Hello, OCWPC Families!

We are thrilled to announce our 2020 club-wide Golf Tournament, Dinner & Helicopter Ball Drop Fundraiser at Tijeras Creek Golf Club on Friday, April 24th.

Why are we so excited? We haven’t had a club-wide golf tournament since 2013 and we are super amped about getting together for an adult-only club event full of golf, music, food, the chance to win up to $2,500 in the helicopter golf ball drop, fundraising for our club & kids and – maybe most importantly – the chance to hang out with all of our super OCWPC parents, coaches and all of our awesome friends!

While this year’s fundraising event day is an adult-only affair, it is definitely all about our kids. Proceeds from this event will benefit the club in the following areas:

  • 50% of any proceeds go directly towards your club costs – tournament fees, club dues, etc. We’ve never been able to donate back to our kids before, and we feel like this is a big win for all of us. The other 50% goes to the club for discretionary purchases (gear, pool fees, coaches).

Also – you may or may not know it, but Orange County Water Polo Club is a tax-exempt section 501(c)(3) nonprofit (ID # 26-0842452) organization and, as such, all or some of your donations may be tax deductible. Be sure to consult with your CPA; better yet, call your CPA and invite them to be one of our sponsors!



The event allows for a maximum of 144 golfers and 250 dinner guests; we know that seems like a lot of availability, but don’t wait to sign-up – we expect it will fill up, making for an epic evening!

Golf + Dinner is $150/person and includes golf, cart, dinner, tee gift, and more!

Dinner is $40/person

Helicopter Ball Drop Fundraiser:
“What’s a helicopter ball drop”, you ask? Well, if you see any seasoned golf maniacs nearby, you can ask them or you can just get the skinny from us here – Golf balls are sold for $10 per ball; each ball is numbered & assigned to a purchaser. Just before the dinner event, a helicopter will drop all the balls onto the green and the ball which goes into the predetermined hole or closest to the pin will win up to $2500 (or a 50/50 split of what we as a club bring in on the sold golf balls up to $2500). OCWPC earns $8 for each ball sold and is the biggest source of our fundraising!

We would love to see all of our athletes participate in the fundraiser – it’s a great way to get your family and friends to learn more about your water polo athlete & support their goals. The goal for EACH player is to sell 20 golf balls but please don’t stop there – we’ve got some special prizes lined up for the kids – more info soon!

2020-OCWPC-Golf-Tourney-Event-Sponsor-Flyer If you or someone you know wants to get their business in front of our club members, the corporate event sponsorships are a great opportunity to raise money for the team and build awareness for their business. Every OCWPC athlete will have a unique page will have a “Sponsorship” tab that will have a range of choices for the Event Sponsorship packages.

Corporate sponsors will have their logo/business emailed to the entire club before the event, have a presence at the event, be listed on the Sponsorship section on the Event page on ocwpc.com and retain a linked position on any News posts on OCWPC.com.

Almost all of the fundraising efforts will be done online, using an online platform called “AccelRaise”, making it super easy.

Each athlete will get a customized AccelRaise web URL where they can upload a personal photo, message and video. You will want to send that unique URL to your family, friends and sponsors where they can purchase items there (golf + dinner, just dinner, golf balls for the helicopter drop, event sponsorships, etc). Any sales made from your athlete’s link will get credited to your athlete, easy peasy!
