Orange County Water Polo Club (OCWPC) Begins New Season After Strong Showing At 2011 National Junior Olympics
For the last forty-two years, the National Junior Olympic Water Polo Tournament has been the venue for the best clubs in the nation to compete against one another. During this 4-day tournament, over 300 teams compete at all levels ranging from 10 and Under through the Masters level. This year, the tournament was held in Orange County at over 20 venues in the area. Team Results OCWPC finished their club season with a strong showing by
qualifying seven teams for the tournament:
Alumni Battle For Men’s 21 and Under Title Notable showings this year were from OCWPC alumni Mac Carden
of USC’s Trojan Club (San Juan Capistrano) and Nick Santala of UC Berkeley’s
Lamorinda Club (Aliso Viejo). Both gentlemen battled in the Championship Game
with Trojan beating Lamorinda (7-5). Both Carden and Santala trained with
OCWPC since they were 11 years old, and played together at JSerra Catholic high school for four years.
New Fall Session OCWPC, a not for profit club based out of JSerra
Catholic High School, kicks off a new club season this Fall starting the week
after Labor Day. All boys and girls interested in playing water polo are
encouraged to come and try the club at no charge for a week. A limited number
of scholarships may be available for qualifying athletes, especially 10u Coed
